Update from my previous 1 star review below. Sumerain got back to me and the customer service was great. They sent out a replacement part at no cost before I took it all apart. When taking it apart, I found that the plumber had installed a galvanized steel coupling that was rusting out and it had nothing to do with sumerains product. Changing this to a 4 star review per their customer service.

First of all, you can ignore the poor reviews on here due to insulation issues. I believe most people think they can replace just the covers, while not having to replace the valve assembly. This is definitely not the case, so be prepared for that!

I cannot believe how high-quality this feels. The look is very timeless, which is just an added benefit. Control knobs have better field and any delta or Moen faucet I have ever felt. They are all quarter turn, and feel phenomenal.

As far as installation goes, this does become a little tricky due to the math involved. It does not give you much play, so you need to account for cement board thickness as well as tile and mortar thickness. This is fairly easily done. As you can see in my pictures, I skim coated the walls with concrete, which gave me a little more room to play around with.

Overall, this definitely deserves five stars!

So obviously whether or not this is easy to install absolutely depends on your plumbing setup...ours was terrible and we essentially had to re plumb everything for this new setup, but that was kind of the be expected for an old house! Some people might have a straightforward experience, and some should hope to have plumber friends! For everyone giving a bad review because they had to replumb their tub...you can see the hookups in the listing, and you should have known/checked if they work with your current tub. But regardless -this is an absolutely GORGEOUS set! We added a different shower head arm because the one that came with this set is too low for most people, and we also added a second shower head to clean the tub with after. Highly recommend the little upgrades to make it your own! Everything about this is beautiful and I am so thankful for it every time I look at my shower!
